RP Members, Connections, and Friends I believe there are some really outrageous nicknames that have been handed out to some of you when you served in the Military. Lets' get them out there and don't be embarrased. Please share! This is one of those Posts that just keep giving over time. RP Members keep adding your nicknames.

Don't leave us hanging - share the story behind the nickname too!!

One of my many was: "Burly" and when I was a PFC/E-3 it was "Horse Collar!" Others I can't repeat from Basic Training - use your imagination!

In basic it started with being called "Yogi". I guess because of how my last name is pronounced by some. Then during one deployment in turned into "The Saint". I was caught showing a humanistic side to some who were less fortunate. After that on another deployment it went to "badger". This one was due to......... well one can use their imagination. I still get called all three sometimes but more often it's "Yogi". Its funny because every member of my family who has served has been given that handle.

On base I didn't have a nickname; but, off base I did. Off base I was "snag". I don't think anyone I ever met outside of the base ever even knew my real name.

A rabbit or a Nutria tried to climbing Carter's boat in a fishing photo-op. His reaction overeaction was pure comedy gold.

Tank - because during an obstacle course the slanted wall your supposed to hit and flip over I actually blew through and they had to shut the obstacle down.

In basic I was referred to as Doc because I was always taking care of everyone whenever they had issues. In my permanent station I became Sgt Lou. The Lou was from a movie where an actor was having a talk with his friends at a diner and he smashed the napkin dispenser against his head and crushed it. Well one day we were talking about it and I was wondering how hard it’d be to do it. Pretty hard for sure. Since then it stuck.

My radio call sign was "Maddog", it's close to my name Matlock, plus it described my personality when under the influence. My DI, and my Ex Wife called me "A**hole".
