RP Members, Connections, and Friends I believe there are some really outrageous nicknames that have been handed out to some of you when you served in the Military. Lets' get them out there and don't be embarrased. Please share! This is one of those Posts that just keep giving over time. RP Members keep adding your nicknames.
Don't leave us hanging - share the story behind the nickname too!!
One of my many was: "Burly" and when I was a PFC/E-3 it was "Horse Collar!" Others I can't repeat from Basic Training - use your imagination!

While going to school at Sheppard Air Force base, this guy from Georgia could not say all of my last last name so he called me "Kindersnatch" It wasn't long before it was just "snatch". They called my name onetime in the mess hall and a dozen Waf's turned around. LOL P.S. this is the first time i have revealed it.

During recruit training Drill Instructor Sgt Allen gave recruits nicknames. One day it was raining so we were wearing ponchos. We were waiting to enter the chow hall and he comes over and gets in my face, I was first squad leader, and says, LOUDLY, "Pvt. Quintana, you know what you look like in that thing"?
Me: "Sir, the private doesn't know, Sir"
Him: "You look like a 'rock', a big green forkin' rock"!
Me: Sir, yes Sir. The private looks like a green rock, Sir"!
After graduation myself and two others were assigned to Charlie company, 3rd Amtracs.
Everyone called me "Rock" and it stuck until I picked up Cpl. Even then, when it was just NCOs around I was still "Rock".

Had a cool call me war horse because of combat service and the fact while training with the Queens guard I was sent with them to Granada. Some of my men heard him call me that and it stuck for a long time. The men in my platoon also called me dad because because I was oldest in unit

was a saxophone player in a local band when stationed in Alaska. Kept sax in my work shop on base for theft prevention. Came in to shop one Friday afternoon in a three piece suit and grabbed my horn. My boss, an old W4, Said "Well, if it isn't Little Augie the Collector" (Little Augie was a bagman/protector in Al Capone's mob back in '30s). Name stuck 1960 - present.
(was ET2 back then)
