MCRD San Diego, Platoon 262. 1965 Age 18 USMC. Fort Bliss, 2nd ADA Tng Bde 1977, Ft Sam Houston 1977. Served in USMC 1965 -1974; USAFR 1974-1976; US Army 1977-1988. Fed Civ Svc 1989-1996.

I volunteered for the Draft at age 20, sworn in at Fort Wayne, MI, and completed Basic Training at Fort Knox, KY in 1960. During the winter's bivouac training I almost died with the flu in knee-deep snow, but I bore up to the challenge and graduated on time.

Fort Dix New Jersey 17 years old. I had joined the Army Reserve as a Junior in High School went to basic the Summer between my Junior and Senior year. I went to AIT the Summer after graduation. Then active duty for next 13 years.
