You've been to military balls. Like me, you've seen a wide variety of ball gowns. What is an appropriate ball gown? What is not? Can you give or show example?

The lady in the silver dress behind her is far more sexy and appropriate. Funny how there seems to be an inverse correlation.

Is it just me, or is there a certain hilarity in the way the good Captain is just standing there at attention?

Also, context on pictures can change everything. I wonder if this one has a saving context?

LOL...the pun was in the back of my mind as well. Sir, but I promise: I was referring to the way he's standing.

I would have been embarrassed to be at the same ball. I hope that someone in that group pulled this Captain to the side and asked him what the hell was thinking allowing this to take place. I feel sorry for both of them. Frankly, I divorced my wife because she got drunk at my military retirement ball and made a fool out of herself, my family, my daughters, and her parents. I'm not afraid to admit it, I made a big mistake, but we learn from our mistakes and we move on! I took the necessary action!

That wasn't the only incident, but the culminating event. It is what it is! You just have to adjust fire and move on!

Thanks for the kind words. Some lessons are learned the hard way and you move forward, not backwards.

Change of Subject! I was just wonder if this Captain was a member of RallyPoint. How Embarrassing would that be. Sorry, that just came to mind! If he was, he would have probably canceled his account! LOL!

I would have. But I would have left the site because I do not need such judgmental people in my life. And believe me y'all are being very judgmental.

There is always one the pushes the envelope - until there is a dress code for spouses or significant others you will always have this. is it inappropriate? sure it is but I have seen much worse at other functions military and civilian.

There is a dress code! It's just not written down. Think of what your pastor, rabbi, or priest would think if she wore it to a church wedding! If it fits there, it fits at the ball.
