I start every day with a laugh. I visit a humorous website every morning that never fails to amuse me. It may take a few minutes to find the silly item but after a loud, hearty laugh, my endorphins and I are ready for just about anything. I also stay physically active with kickboxing classes, jumping on my rebounder, annd riding my bicycle. My children and grandchildren, the joy of my life, are within biking distance, so I visit them as often as possible.

I pray and meditate daily to keep grounded. I have a Wife who is fighting colon rectal cancer and every day is a gift for her and myself. We also live in a very scenic area in NC. I always find that if I exercise spiritual health good mental health will follow.

Social distance. I was social distancing long before it became a thing. Cutting down on interactions with humans as much as possible is literally the only thing that helps reset my mental health.

I was ALWAYS the smallest in my age group, from kindergarten through High school graduation. It didn't bother me, except to make me hungry. i heard 'Go away, shrimp" so much that I figured shrimp must be as great as me. I got addicted to shrimp gumbo, shrimp creole, sweet & sour shrimp, fried shrimp, boiled shrimp, ANY shrimp as long as it's cooked. and I was absolutely right. Shrimp IS as good as me!

For my mental health I try and take a hour or so just to myself per day. That can be just relaxing, working on things around the house, going to the gym or just sitting in a relaxing environment and reflect on myself and my goals.

When I first wake up in the morning to set the tone for the day. A lot of us pretty much start to think of all the things we have to do when you wake up and say Oh, I got to do this. I got to do that and automatically when you first open up and you start thinking of all the things that need to be done creating your schedule in your head. We start adding stress to ourselves to see sort of we're preoccupied with so many things that need to be done.
appreciating life first. When I wake up in the morning and the first thought I try to think of is my Creator and think of everything around me. This helps me start to live with gratitude and by starting with gratitude it sets the tone for the day because when your thankful for something, the first thing you do is humble yourself because of all these things that are given to you. And there's something to be said about that. It also pulls away from the negativity that you're focused on the good things. You're focused on things to be grateful for, rather than focusing on the negative things because they're there is not going to go away.

I always start my day with a Daily Bible Verse from http://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org and surrender my day over to My LORD GOD in Heaven in the Name of His Holy Son, My Lord and Saviour Christ Jesus - Amen.

Amen! I find this has been really good for me too before I start my day. Our church challenges us to have our top 10 memory verses that we can lean on. Recently we were encouraged to go back and read the Gospels.

To prioritize my mental health, I find a quiet spot and read. Reading refreshes and restores the thought process.
