Lift weights, get enough sleep, try to not eat all the pizza. Playing with my son and pouring my love into him is my greatest de-stresser.

I run 4 or 5 miles everyday! This is uplifting for me and keeps everything in perspective! My 74 year old legs don’t run nearly as fast as when I was in my prime however just being out in nature and appreciating that I can still do this is a real high for me!

I stopped giving energy to people and things I know will drain and use me. I used to give my all to people and I had nothing left for myself. Now, I say no to situations that doesn’t suit me. I’ve given my soul to my military career. Now it’s time to give myself the love I deserve.

I like a term I saw about those people you refer to: "Crazymakers".

Work outside in the yard as much as possible. Spend time with my kids. Try and hike or ski whenever possible.

Do my daily yoga practice, and get outside in nature. The serenity of these keep me on an even keel.

I get out and walk. Sometimes 1 mile, sometimes 2 or 3 but walking coordinates my mental and physical parts into one united force that gives me strength to deal with all that I face as an aging combat veteran.

I'm doing what I can as I just had lumbar surgery the first of last month but, you are right.
A bit too much physical work, some genetic issues and time caught up with me.
Just the same, Physical exertion is another key part in staying mentally healthy!

I make sure to get at least one hour of ‘me’ time every day - no phone, no tv, no distractions, maybe a cat, a hobby, yoga, - something for me and only me. This helps keep me balanced, and it’s a chance for my head and heart to understand that I’m important too.
