Stepping on the American flag at UCLA
Protesters step on the American flag at UCLA while a student who was walking by forces them off.
There is some strong profanity in this video so I render caution. If these four young people are so offended by our flag then why don't they move to another country? What would you do if you were there? Please keep the comments clean and rational.
Update: Sorry, posted the wrong link. Here's one from YouTube.

These folks that want to step on the flag, have the right to do so. I also cherish the right to ignore them, and never ever associate with them.

Bullshit Ted. They didn't earn the right to disrespect my symbol of freedom. Freedom of speech has it's limits and this id definitely past the limit.

SGT Chris Adams - I might think they are scum, but you have to pick your battles. Although, If I had happened on this scene, I might have had words with these sorry excuses for human beings.

Ted, one of the best responses I've seen on this site. The flag is a thing. No one should be killed, beaten, or imprisoned over it. What it represents to an individual can never be trampled on. The beauty of this country is you can do this and not be secreted away to a torture chamber and held for days before a hasty execution. It's ok to be unhappy with the way this country is run or what it represents. If there is an ordnance that prevents this kind of desecration then let the uniformed police handle it. It's called rule of law. The system I'm describing is made possible by our service and the shield of protection we provide against those who would see our way of life end. When I see these videos, I imagine what I'd do. I'd probably walk right by and whisper to myself, "you're welcome".

Some observations:
1. Stepping on the flag changes nothing.
2. We can't rewrite history.
3. If this country revolts them, they should go to another f@cking country to live.
4. I am glad that man got support from the crowd.
5. You cant win with silence and inaction.

Ignore them. Everyone just ignore them. This qualifies as both speech and demonstration, they have the right to both. What they seek is attention. They DON'T have the "right" to be paid attention to. They will either stop or they will up their antics (and probably end up breaking a law, in which case-police).

Sgt William Themann - Yes it is hard to do. Supporting and defending the Constitution isn't always easy. The Flag is a symbol of freedom though, not simply freedom itself. The right thing isn't always the easy thing.
