If you've been in the military for any amount of time, chances are you've been to an awards ceremony, graduation, etc., and heard units yell out "something" to show unit pride and support when a member of their unit is recognized.

While stationed in Okinawa, I was at an annual awards ceremony and when a nominee from the Dental squadron was called, the Commander stood up and yelled out "If you ain't got no teeth!" ... the Dental squadron members responded loudly with "You Suck!" The entire ballroom was cracking up! By far my favorite yet. Here's an example from an AMXS: "If the Eagle's in the Air... we put it there!"

What's the best chant/call out you've heard?

Best -as a currently serving member of the 3rd Infantry Division - ROCK OF THE MARNE! with a response of TOP OF THE ROCK!.

Funniest - and I have to admit I didn't pay much attention to it until the end of basic training where I realized what we were really saying:

Bravo in the front, let me hear you grunt!
Bravo in the rear, let me hear you cheer!
Bravo in the middle, give me just a little!

Of course, these days it would warrant a SHARP complaint.

Thanks for sharing LTC. Both really good and your funny one, just like the Dental Sq's "you suck", probably offensive to some, but very funny to me nonetheless.

In my dad’s day, each unit had its own response to “Rock of the Marne!” The transportation guys had “we hump the rock,” for example, commo was “voice of the rock,” and so on. My dad was in the chemical company. “We smoke the rock!”

Everything I HAVE created to call while running! The most famous of mine being named "The Drinking Cadence" by the rest of The Army! Simply based on some of the drinks I've had in my life. It got requested every time we did an esprit de corps run and longer every time I called it.

1st Sgt yells "YOU GOT IT"...Contracting unit responds with "we bought it"

My Lolita dresses in Green...she puts out like a coke machine...UNACCEPTABLE BY A LOT OF STANDARDS BUT STILL A MARCHING CHANT IN THE 80's

During a division run in 2002, I remember the 502nd Infantry regiment running past. They were sounding off with their regiment number. "Five Oh Deuce!" But when they were running, it really didn't sound like they were saying "Deuce."

Also at Fort Campbell, I was part of HHC 1-101 Avengers, and our motto was "Avengers rock the house!" While I was there, HHC split and formed E co from the motor pool and 3/5 platoons. One day, the 1SG was addressing the (now smaller) HHC, and when he called us to attention, we sounded off with "Avengers rock the house!"

Behind the formation was a SSG from the new E co, who waited until we were done to sound off with their motto, "The best support the rest!" It was funny, but it did not end well for him. ;)

My personal fav is when we convinced a young 2LT to lead "I wanna be a Chairborne Ranger" instead of the "Airborne" in front of the new jump qualified CG....the poor fellow was running around platoons while we all ran 5 miles...

At the end of our Company song we would end it with "Yeah WETSUP". Most would ask what it meant and we would shout, "We Eat This Shit Up".
