I never did either, but during my smoke sessions I've noticed that now, there is a strange satisfaction behind pushups.. It's weird lol.

Those silly sit-ups, Specialist Fleming. I told my Drill Sergeant that I couldn't do them anymore. She responded with: "Well, Frenchie can do them." So I ultimately received a first Go; on everything in Basic. I came out first around the PT track! SPC (Join to see)

Pull ups. Push ups, sit ups 2 mile run easy. I maxed 29 out of 30 tests. The one I did not was a 290. I had the flu.

Barrel rolls. Just keep rolling along until you're so dizzy that you're going to throw up. As a track and cross country coach, I love making my athletes do these. I also loved the overhead arm clap, which is something else I make my athletes do just for the fun of it.

walking around on all fours screaming "IM HANK THE TANK" then kicking one leg out in front of us and going "BOOM" It was never a mass punishment because everyone else was allowed to laugh. so of course if you were hank the tank you went all out to make it as entertaining as possible.

I never really smiled while being corrected. I suppose the one that mad me the least amount of smiles though was simply getting up and getting back down in the front leaning rest over and over again. Let me do a push up at least!

There was no corrective action at OCS that made me “smile on the inside”, SPC (Join to see). Much of the stuff that happened to us then (graduated 16JUN73) would get drill sergeants and tactical officers court-martialed nowadays.

At air assault we did a lot of overhead arm claps and front arm claps.
It went from, “ha, overhead arm claps to, at some unknown number of reps to, ahhh, overhead arm claps...”
I smile every time I hear “Boulder shoulders.”
