Ah yes, "Jody calls," we've all heard them, marched to them, run to them, or called them out in a motivated tone; so, what are some of your all time favorites? As this is an inter-service thread, we want to hear from all of you--Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Reserve of each of the above, and the National Guard--so what are your favorite service-specific cadences, and do you have an old standby or trusty go-to cadence? Perhaps it was one that was once popular but somehow fell out of use, or maybe an just an old standard or unique favorite. Please feel free to share any photos, videos, sound files, stories, associated memories, and/or anything else needed to help to tell your story. I'm sure that an old classic or two comes to mind, so "one, two, three, four-or... this is what we're here for-or..." So, pull up a keyboard and let's get this thing started, thank you for all that you do, and... see you all in the discussion threads!

One cadence that is always in every unit run is "Rock-Steady." It is one of those cadence that motivates you to keep going after the third or fourth mile.

One cadence that I can never forget is “Hard Work.” My drill
sergeant in basic training was one of those classic infantry that did
everything (airborne, air assault, range, ranger instructor, sniper, pathfinder)
and “hard work” was definitely the best cadence

Since my battalion hated all of us comm guys, we used to sing such lovely cadences as "The S&M" man which garnered many dirty looks, condemation, and outrage directed towards us.

My girl's a vegetable
She lives in a hospital
But I would do anything
To keep her alive

She has a green TV
It's called an EKG
But I would do anything
To keep her alive

She has no arms or legs
That's why we call her pegs
But I would do anything
To keep her alive

Sometimes I play a joke
Pull the plug and watch her choke
But I would do anything
To keep her alive

Each time she breaths in air
She sounds like Darth Vader
But I would do anything
To keep her alive

While she lies there on her back

I'm out spending her welfare check

I'd buy her anything

To keep her alive

While she lies and slowly dies

I'm between her sister's thighs

I'll buy her anything

To keep her alive

Marching: I hear the Choppers hovering
Running: Drip Drop, Rain is falling on my head

I had some very good leaders above me with not just great cadence skills, but singing skills. They sung our cadences and made waking up that early worth it :)

I always liked "Tiny bubbles", "A Yellow Bird", and " C-130 rolling down the strip"

A few different versions of C-130 out there.  My favorite is the one about the Airborne Ranger.

I dont even recall marching after basic except at a change of command ceremony. We had difficulty enough getting AF troops to stay in step. That was way long time ago. Before the AF joined the real military.

I can't remember exactly how it went. Something like "Hey there Jodi boy! 5ft wide and 3ft tall! Caught them in a bathroom stall! Hey there Jodi boy! Hit him with a two by four, cause my wife she was a whore!"

Not familiar with that one, but I'm sure it goes in the same category with -the lady in red - I wish all the ladies - LuLu - CAV scout - CO's daughter and others that were certainly colorful but in this day and age I guess unacceptable language & content. I started this just to see if anyone could jar my memory with a Jodi call I had forgotten .....
