The tragedy of the deaths of 2 of four Americans at the hands of Drug Cartels operating in Mexico begs the question - When is enough - enough?

Some are calling for US Military intervention to level the head of the snake and place "salt" on the body of the snake to desiccate its mobility and striking capacity.

Some are calling for less aggressive means.

It is interesting how we know so much and somehow can do so little.........

Again, I'd just like to say - If "We the people of the United States,..." are to work to form "...a more perfect union..." then how can we continue to tolerate a government that speaks to "equity" and at the same time excludes it population from the capacity to enjoy "...domestic tranquility..." by not being able to effectively and efficiently "...provide for the common defense..." in such a manner so as to be able to "...promote the general welfare..." that leads to greater capacity to "...establish justice..." so that everyone who seeks the protection of the law know that the power of good law well administered without political despotism can help '...secure the blessings of liberty..."; then why the ##$%@##@$#$^#$&#$^#$*@Q@ cannot 535 members of Congress, #s of those in the Executive Branch, and the obviously delusional members of some in the Justice Department not honestly recognize the very Clear and Present Danger in both the US Southern and Northern Borders and along all three coast lines?

Is it that hard for those who call themselves leaders to - actually led???

Of course, the answer is simple ..........................

BTW check out this follow-on post regarding cartel etc. asset seizures. Interesting read!

What do you think?

Just saying.............

End the drug war! Nothing will hurt the cartels and stop violence more than letting legitimate companies with quality control processes manufacture and distribute products and they can call the police if there are issues without fear of reprisal.

With all due respect, I was all on board for "end the drug war!" until I was living in central Texas and two kids at my kids' high school died from fentanyl laced OTC drugs this year. This is way out of hand.

How many people have died from fentanyl this year? What's a fatal dose of fentanyl? Would you know it if you saw it? How many of those people who died from fentanyl so far this year (since the start of 2023) were actually looking for fentanyl?

Do you know? Do you care? Are they just a statistic? A tragedy? How many are too many? How many indiscriminate murders of U.S citizens is too many? How long are you willing to see it go on before you demand concrete action instead of empty words from our elected officials?

This is serious. This is not going away. This has only gotten worse.

LTC (Join to see) ["I'm not arguing that drugs are good, I'm arguing that they should be legal and safe, i see this as completely in line with your statements. ODs usually happen because users of illegal drugs do not know exactly how strong the drug they are using is, if a company made it they would. Making drugs legal would also free up a lot of assets to focus on prevention and treatment."]

We got a good look at exactly what a company would do when they had carte blanche to just flood the market with schedule 1 drugs - Purdue Pharma (The Sadlers) and their billions in profits at the expense of millions of American lives, including my father in 2010. Not one of them is in prison today. They knew full well what they were doing. They knew that they were going to kill people. They did not care and they were given a free pass by every regulatory and law enforcement agency which should have held them accountable.

I'm sorry but you are still incredibly naïve to think that someone with a clear profit motive will somehow do the honorable thing for a group which has been routinely victimized and taken advantage of by others who are in the same business which they are. Think a little deeper about your position and learn to call a spade a spade.

SSG John Gillespie The drug war does so much damage to our society and at such great cost I continue to land on the side of legislation even knowing everything stated above.

LTC (Join to see) - You're right, it does, but allowing another Purdue Pharma situation (which they're always going to do anyway, if we're being totally honest about it) is not a solution. Our citizens are being murdered for profit in either scenario - whether it is targeted or indiscriminate is completely irrelevant. It is a simply unacceptable reality that people behave in this manner and are allowed to persist with no repercussions. That is a PROFOUND injustice and if ever there was such a thing as righteous warfare, it would be in pursuit of ending senseless and indiscriminate murder of our own citizens in our own communities.

Mexico Is A Corrupt Country From The Federal Level Down To The Local Level, The Cartel’s Run The Country Not The Elected Leaders.
I Read These Stories About American Citizens Going To Some Foreign Countries And Getting Arrested For Stupid Crimes Or Getting Killed And Wonder Why ?
If You Go To Some Of These Countries Such As Mexico, Iran, Russia Or China You Get What You Deserve.
Simple, Don’t Go To Countries That Are Not Even Safe For Their Own Citizens
