I just enlisted National Guard, as a prior service 88M. I was 88M1 and they gave me 88M2, in a Heavy Transport Company. I just met the readiness NCO at my new unit, and he said it's an E-5 slot. I am wondering what I should expect for duties.

You SGT (Join to see) have been given a golden opportunity! Please don't waste it. Your an E-4 in an E-5 slot so you should be doing everything you can to earn that E-5. Talk to your Section & PLT SGTs and find out what you need to know and do to get there. A lot of times w/o you knowing you can have your slot changed, especially if there is someone up for that promotion and you're in the slot. Pun intended - "Drive on"!
