Lcpl Faust when we're you there? 01 or 02? I was there in 03, it sucked then it must of really sucked when you were there.

My son was there in 2011. He stated that security was at a very high posture, but the BLT did go out and train with the local forces. Be safe and vigilant.

It generally is because of the AQAP presence in the area. We had overwatch and force protection at all times. It was a unique experience though because we actually set up a real PB. We didn't see anything other than the locals trying to steal our stuff, but it was nice to have a real reason to posture up.
