What should I plan for as a Recruiter's Assistant?

I indicated to my chain of command that I was interested in going on orders for whatever mission was available. Border mission, COVID, overseas would be better, doesn't matter though whatever they have I'm interested in checking it out.
They said there might be several options available, but one mentioned that being a Recruiter's Assistant might be available come the new fiscal year. I hadn't thought of that as an option before.
What's working as a Recruiter or an assistant to one like? Besides all of the obvious jokes, what do you need to plan for?

if you are looking for fulltime orders, here are your resources:
https://dema.az.gov/careers/dema-jobs no CAC required, lists all GDOD, counterdrug and AGR positions as they become available in your state.
Pro tip: for E4 you increase you chance of getting hired by having BLC complete.
MOBCOP TOD does require milnet and CAC login, lists every CONUS and OCONUS opportunity
Worldwide Individual Augmentation System (WIAS) similiar to TOD, the difference is that you can join S1NET on Milsuite, CAC required, sign up for the weekly newsletter for all doctrine and reg updates and WIAS positions listed.
Recruiter Assistant: you might get set up to actually just assist a recruiter all year, or you might just end up recruiting all year.
This is how RRB fills the gaps on being short AGR recruiters.
Either way, you'll get a state laptop, and you need to learn about a half dozen new systems that units don't use, and you'll need to learn actual recruiting.
Pro tip: they use recruiting assistant GDOS tours to train and assess folks for hire as AGR recruiters. They can't hire someone for AGR without BLC complete, because SQI4 school requires BLC..

Thank you SGM. Not having regular access to MOBCOP due to the milnet requirement has been unfortunate. I was not tracking WIAS, I'll look into that. I'm hoping to put in for a BLC or VBLC date within the next year.

SPC (Join to see) - Yeah, it's pretty inconvenient that some large databases with everyone's SSN, DOB and HOR are all behind a PKI wall and a milnet wall.
Kinda wish OPM had done something like that prior to 2015.
You can always stop by the unit every couple weeks to check TOD, or you can just ask an AGR to download the whole spreadsheet and email to you to parse through jobs on your free time.

After some of the screwed up stuff I've seen in my MOS, and some of it involving recruits. I can imagine. Having a glass of whiskey at the end of the day was not sometimes not unwarranted.
