Doesn't matter if you agree with this move or not - it's been directed and it's happening. What are your suggestions for renaming the following bases?

- Fort Bragg
- Fort Rucker
- Fort Benning
- Fort Gordon
- Fort Hood
- Fort Polk
- Fort A.P. Hill
- Fort Belvoir
- Fort Lee
- Fort Pickett

Most of these Confederate Generals were Americans before the Civil War and after. Having military posts named after these great men, not great for their beliefs, great for their stand and service to their country. We don’t just remember them as great men, but as former slave owner's who were defeated. Their cause was defeated and their slaves freed; we must remember the past to keep from being repeated, not allowing anyone from America to be enslaved ever again. We need to be reminded and have real history taught at all levels of education.

HOW ABOUT YOU LEAVE THE BASE NAMES ALONE! THAT'S THE ONLY RESPONSE.

Leave everything alone. Most people forget that almost ALL of them served with distinction in the military prior to the war between the States. A nation that forgets it's history is doomed to repeat it (sic).

I'm not going to pick names. The point is that the existing names don't reflect values that reflect the military now (if they ever did). So what are the modern values we want our modern military to embrace? Diversity? The names should be of people of color, women, and maybe someone of an alternate gender. The value of everyone's contribution? Focus on enlisted personnel. Sacrifice? Names from those who volunteered in the Middle East, or came home from Viet Nam to a hostile nation. Don't ask us for names, first ask us what our key values are.

Leave the names alone. There is no reason to change them.

Don't do it. It's a stupid and expensive move. Don't cave to the move erase history. When you don"t learn from it. For instance, leaving Iraq gave us Isis. Leaving Afghanistan the saway gave us the Taliban
