Doesn't matter if you agree with this move or not - it's been directed and it's happening. What are your suggestions for renaming the following bases?

- Fort Bragg
- Fort Rucker
- Fort Benning
- Fort Gordon
- Fort Hood
- Fort Polk
- Fort A.P. Hill
- Fort Belvoir
- Fort Lee
- Fort Pickett

Replace Fort Polk with Fort Russell Honore. One great general (LTG) who is still proudly serving our nation long after retirement. And he is from Louisiana.

Medal of Honor winners get my vote, or Buffalo Soldiers or Code Talkers. Their valor is certainly greater than Generals anyway. Audie Murphy for one. Maybe 1LT Vernon Baker (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vernon_Baker) could be the new name for Ft Benning, his citation certainly reads like the epitome of the Infantry soldier. How about we rename ALL posts after small unit leaders, they are the real leaders in the Army anyway

I have a suggestion, LEAVE HISTORY ALONE. What is wrong with this country? Why don’t you just take the civil war out of all our history books and classes. I suggest we name these bases after camps in Afghanistan or Vietnam to honor the fallen soldiers who lost their lives during these wars.

Rename Fort Benning to Fort Moore, in honor of Lt. Gen. Hal Moore and Julie Moore.

You could name them after the town, county, city, state etc that they’re in. Or possibly a DoD themed name. There’s way too many great people to suggest just not enough forts.

Naming anything after someone will always have a blowback of some sort. Even naming a fort or base after a city will fire someone up in 100 years. I'm thinking of Columbus, Ohio. Naming it after Christopher had a blowback.

Kathy, your correct, but my original recommendation last year got a lot of blowback. Fort #1, Fort #2, Fort #3, etc.

SMSgt Bob W. I see that happening, too. Either they'll figure it out or not, I'm sure someone somewhere will be happy with the changes.

- Fort Bragg--Franklin D. Roosevelt
- Fort Rucker--Abraham Lincoln
- Fort Benning--WEB Du Bois
- Fort Gordon--Benjamin O. Davis, Sr.
- Fort Hood--Richard Edward Cavazos
- Fort Polk--Clarence Leonard Tinker
- Fort A.P. Hill-Albert Lyman
- Fort Belvoir--Ann Elizabeth Dunwoody
- Fort Lee--Ronald W. Reagan
- Fort Pickett--Barack Obama

NOW, piss on this. All the forts are named after a president or a general who distinguished themselves in the U.S. Army. I have Red, Yellow, Black, and White generals. For the "politically correct representatives" in the House of Representatives and the Senate, you can't beat this list. It honors or offends everyone.

Rich, I like it. It is well researched; however, it is not diversified enough. This group of elected losers want diversity.
