Doesn't matter if you agree with this move or not - it's been directed and it's happening. What are your suggestions for renaming the following bases?

- Fort Bragg
- Fort Rucker
- Fort Benning
- Fort Gordon
- Fort Hood
- Fort Polk
- Fort A.P. Hill
- Fort Belvoir
- Fort Lee
- Fort Pickett

Where possible, name for MOH winner with connection to the location. For example, rename Bragg Fort Alvin York and Hood, Fort Audie Murphy. Fort Belvoir could easily be renamed "Fort Lafayette" since he has some identity with the area.

Since keeping the name isn't an option. Medal of Honor recipient from the state of the Fort. Example, Ft Hood = Ft. Murphy

1SG, the only reason that the current names are not an option is because the nut-jobs on the left are mandating that we can't keep the current names. What possible sense will it be to share with our grandkids that I was stationed at Fort Hood and they ask where that is and I say in Texas and they go and look and there is no Fort Hood in Texas?

Also, my step-dad was stationed at Fort Hood and so was I. It was a legacy that we shared and that kind of legacy should NOT be so callously discarded because of butt-hurt libtards who most likely have never served a day in their life are ticked off about the names of military posts that they've never even visited.

- Fort Bragg - Fort James M. Gavin
- Fort Rucker - Fort Harold G. Moore
- Fort Benning - Fort Lightning Victory or Fort David Hackworth or Fort Alvin C. York
- Fort Gordon - Fort Nathan Hale
- Fort Hood - Fort George S. Patton
- Fort Polk - Fort Sill
- Then change Fort Sill to Fort Knox
- Then change Fort Knox to Fort Daniel Boone
- Fort A.P. Hill - Fort Sheridan
- Fort Belvoir - Fort Andrew A. Humphreys
- Fort Lee - Fort Montgomery C. Meigs
- Fort Pickett - Fort Winfield Scott Hancock

I've always hated that Fort Bragg was named after the BIGGEST LOSER general from the losing side of the American Civil War.

Name each Fort after the men and women who have died in combat, the son's and daughter's of Gold Star Families. It should be easy enough to select a man or woman from each State each post is located in. Reserve one Fort for the hero's of the flight that plowed into a field in Pa. This need not be a sad or bad thing, but an opportunity to honor our son's and daughter's who have kept us safe for 20+ years.

Give them all numbers. That way no one can protest the person they were named after. But skip the number 666. And maybe 13.

The navy names ships after heroes and Medal of Honor recipients. So We should honor in the same way.

Name them after army heroes.

Well... [Camp] Bragg was named for a native North Carolinian Gen. Braxton Bragg for his actions during the Mexican-American war.

Sir,

Not saying they weren’t. Just if they’re going to go that route we should follow suit behind the Navy model

Also he was a terrible commander during the civil war. Nathan Bedford Forrest threatened to kill him because he cost the confederates many decisive battles.

Clearly, from the comments, there is great variability in the understanding of our history, and also the honorific of having a facility (of any type civilian or military) named after someone. It's pretty easy in the civilian world ...pay enough $$ and you get naming rights (Invesco Field at Mike High Stadium comes to mind).
