And while you are Renaming the Forts .... try renaming cities and towns with English names ... Rename the ones that carry the same name as those in England. Several Naval installations along the East Coast were property of the King.

How about naming them after plants/flowers...
Fort Daffodil
Fort Pansy
Fort Succulent
Etc. This way, we could boost psy ops simultaneously...

That is a hard question Some of the names are of some of the most mediocre people they could find, but on the other hand maybe we need to come into at least the 20th century and find some of those examples, Like Patton, Bradley, Eisenhower, Swarztkoff, Mattis. Maybe not the best in some eyes but you asked for suggestions, not necessarily good ones....

If we’re going go along with “stupid is as stupid does “ … name them after MOH recipients from the local area … otherwise to My the bases are always going to be as I learned them to be .. and it really annoys Me that my son doesn’t know the skills of spit polishing some boots …

Leave them alone. Teach about hoe they were good officers in the US Army. Robert E. Lee led a detachment of Marines in retaking the Harper’s Ferry armory from John Brown. I am sure the rest did other such things for their country and should be remembered for the good things they did.

Alvin York, Eisenhower, Audie Murphy Desmond doss, after the local Native American tribe if they approve and bless it, after a MOH awarded that came from that base,

The Confederates were traitors. Their names should be stricken from history.
