Along with all of the OTHER idiocy, like kicking out many of our best warriors because they were smart enough to refuse the illegal order of taking an unapproved vax that was NOT operationally critical.

The attack on American military bases named for Americans is bizarre to me. It is born of ignorance and a complete misunderstanding of history, especially about our Civil War. When Lee surrendered to Grant, ending the war, Grant told his troops to, "Refrain from celebrations in the field," and that "The Rebels are our countrymen again." The Rebels are our countrymen again. Profound. The surrender immediately began the process of healing a wound ON THE SAME BODY, the United States of America. One can change the name of a place, even change their own name, but it doesn't change the thing or person for which the name was changed. It is a foolish, WOKE, superficial activity. And I have no known relatives who fought on the Confederate side of the war. All known ancestors who were in the Civil War fought with the Union. Americans who can't see that after the war was over, we were once again ONE people, ONE nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all, are blinded by special interests and WOKE ideology that has no basis in reality. Names on military bases are INSTRUCTIVE, INFORMATIVE, TEACHABLE MOMENTS. However, with that said, our democracy demands majority rule, protection of rights for the minority, and for the individual to be heard. For that reason, if the majority of those affected by local names of installations vote and decide to change the name of a base, I am all for it. God bless them and their choices and exercise of their freedom, liberty and pursuit of happiness. What I cannot approve of is a small group of WOKE politicians, pundits, bureaucrats and misguided decision-makers deciding for a local populace or entire military, what's in our best interest.

The democrats want re-write history but when it comes to their ass backward policies they want to shove it down the throats of every American.
I suggest they start by cleaning up their history of the racism that they have pushed from slavery to killing the Indians to steal their land.

Truth! Chinook Indians were never ratified in their treaty 1851, why?????????????it's the Portland area. Congress sold it at 600 acre parcels. This should be news. Tansy Point treaty 1849 and congress getting greedy once again. PS feel free to talk to me about this(anyone) [login to see]

There is enough blame to go around. Probably could start with the Vikings and yes the Indigenous peoples themselves. They would attack other tribes and take slaves of those conquered. Throughout history someone always wants something that is not theirs. Remember those explorers claiming properties in the name of their leader. This is history and is repeatably going on forever. A lot of locals are looking at reparations to the african americans. Problem is none that were effected alive. History once again. Eminent domain the governments way to claim someones property in the name of the many.

What is the purpose of this grand gesture with no real change? Who even asked for this? This is time and money wasted. Changing the names will not change what is ingrained in the fabric of this nation.
