Doesn't matter if you agree with this move or not - it's been directed and it's happening. What are your suggestions for renaming the following bases?

- Fort Bragg
- Fort Rucker
- Fort Benning
- Fort Gordon
- Fort Hood
- Fort Polk
- Fort A.P. Hill
- Fort Belvoir
- Fort Lee
- Fort Pickett

Leave history alone and learn from it. Or you will end up repeating it.

My recommendation is, like replacing cubicles and office chairs every 2 years and buying entire squadrons $400 YETI Coolers (every 2 years), stop spending money on things that most don’t even recognize and do very little for the dust and dirt buried in the ground. When I’m dead and gone, I won’t know or remember what was named after me or who I may have benefitted. We have soldiers living in slums and privatized housing in many installations looks like the wastings away in Southeast and East Central Arkansas. I couldn’t even tell you who Nellis, Hurlburt, Eglin, MacDill, Sill, or Travis were. The people of my heritage were marched from Georgia and South Carolina into an arm pit. Native American population reduced by 99% in a 100 year period. I make the choice to deal with it and remember what the govt is capable, and move on toward a better existence (I do question that these days). Changing the sign on the gate doesn’t improve my promotability, make me more mission ready, or improve my living conditions. It’s another example of the govt doing something in theatrics that effectively does nothing. Like the Official policies and the “What we’re really doing” policies (stop movement, anyone?) Erasing it all leaves no warning for the future. Perhaps there’s something to that.

The DoD has turned into a Woke wasteland. Whether those folks wore grey or blue uniforms is not relevant. They were military officers trained in their professional tactics. It’s like these stupid holidays “Junteenth” this holiday is woke crap.

Take the politics and social engineering out of the DoD and simply focus on the job of protecting the ideals of our Republic and killing the bad guys. Wake up America! Fire Lloyd Austin! Recall that idiot Miley to Active Duty and investigate him and Austin for Dereliction of Duty and other UCMJ offenses.

I pray that this DoD will never have to worry about near-peer battles. The Russians and ChiComms will laugh at the DoD’s frilly issue panties.

Leave it alone. None of us served at these installations because of their names. These men were all military men in our armed forces of the time long before the civil war. Until everyone understands what the civil war was about, it had nothing to do with slavery, it was all about unfair taxation and States' rights. All Paratroopers, Rangers, LRRPs, LRS, LRPs, Special Forces, even Delta will always remember FT Benning and FT Bragg as Ft Benning and Ft Bragg.

This attitude that it's happening so "drive on" is unwise in an all volunteer force. In the short term, of course, this is a fact in a top down organization like the military. But keep forcing crap that many SMs dislike, especially meaningless virtue signaling garbage like this, and you will soon be giving orders to NOBODY. This politicization and wokeness has already done great damage to our national security. Many of the best have left, and I have serious doubts about the fighting ability of those who remain/recently joined. One of Trump's highest priority must be to undue the purge of patriots that began with obama, and has continued with biden.

Well look how well my prior post has aged:) President Trump is making it happen, along with Pete! Just as President Reagan said, re the Cold war....WE WIN, they lose. In this case, the "they" were domestic enemies, and they lost.......and will continue losing.

Name them after flowers and fairy tale princesses. This is the direction our military is headed anyway.
