Doesn't matter if you agree with this move or not - it's been directed and it's happening. What are your suggestions for renaming the following bases?

- Fort Bragg
- Fort Rucker
- Fort Benning
- Fort Gordon
- Fort Hood
- Fort Polk
- Fort A.P. Hill
- Fort Belvoir
- Fort Lee
- Fort Pickett

A great way to spend the taxpayers money -destroying tradition is just one of the great ways to demoralize soldiers . Next we need lower physical and intelligence standards and the 43rd interior design battalion to defend us from the thousands of spies , terrorist and criminals which are now all over the country.

I say leave them alone. Changing a name does not change the history. The south has it's right to their history. Why not change the names of the north. Wokeness is a cancer that needs to be removed. Being white is now a bad thing, says you the left. Go ahead and remove history, it always repeats itself.

I agree with uou sir. Leave them alone. This was our history for good or bad. These bases were named afterheroes of the Confederacy who were heroes to those that live duirng that time. We have gotten too political correct. I agree some of these people have had their reputation tarnished. Where do we stop. Some of the places have been named after some former presidents and politicians. Deorge Washington and Thomas jefferson owned slaves. Do we take their names off of everything. I believe the names should be returned to those bases and at the entrances have a historical sign explaining who and why this base was named after this person. Battle etc. Thirty or more years down the road we will be offended by some of the names out there today. Hell even a few of the Indian tribes want their names put back on sports teams etc. It was honoring them not degrading them. Yes I do understand fully why some of these names are offensive. Its our history. We have an aircraft carrier named after a presidnet who slept with other women besides his wife. Where do we stop. The only solution to not offend anyone is just number them base 1. base 2. ships just by their hull number. We are not honoring those we had determined to be heroes to the people at that time. We have a President and a past President nomatter what side you areonI would notwant a base or ship named after either one. Name bases after MOH recipients. We will never get this right. Our congress cannot be bipartisan as it is how do we expect an ordinary citizen group to do the same.

Have service members vote on if they want to change the names. Set up a website or on here. Only those with honorable discharges, active or retired service can vote on this. Advise Pres. Trump to reverse this BS when he takes office!

Is there a Fort York? a Fort Audi Murphy? Maybe we can name them after some enlisted heroes. But, to glorify rebels who fought to maintain a system that enslaved our fellow Americans (I'm white.) is an affront to our fellow citizens.
