Leave them alone. We honor those that served. We may have been divided but they served for what they believed in. It was not just about slavery.

Leave our history alone. We can learn from both the good and the bad from the battles. Case in point.
Once upon a time one party controlled the Congress (both parties) and the Executive offices decided to put out of a country we were trying to support. They surrendered the country to their enemies leaving behind thousands to be executed. That was in Vietnam leaving behind children of American servicemen. Fortunately none of those rescued were North Vietnan agents.
The same party didn't learn from their mistakes when it came to Afghanistan.

I agree, changing the names will not change the history. Leave things alone. These whiny cry baby wimps seem to forget where their freedom to protest and complain comes from. Soon, when these freedoms are slowly removed, then “Who you gonna call?”

Bragg should be Robert Smalls.
Fort Lee should be named after George Thomas Virgins for fought to save the Union.

My suggestion is to leave them alone. People have a lot of history for better or worse with those installations and I’m pretty sure most of them think it’s ridiculous they are being renamed

The most brutally fair thing to do in my opinion would be to take a bulldozer and knock down the sign and then reopen them as Training Base One, Two, Three etc.,. Just do it, in the middle of the night, without announcement or fan-fare. The next day everyone shows up to work directed to change all the signs and letter heads. Tear down what you can't change in a day and fix it later but get it done.... It's either this or hold out until all these bases are renamed after some LBGTQ-XYZ, BLM or ANTIFA street thug who gave their lives for blah, blah, blah....

Name them after any soldier who has fallen during ww2, Vietnam, or heck, even GWOT.

History has both good and bad legacies. I think that leaving the posts as they are already named is appropriate. It remembers the good and the bad, as it should. If we only remember the good the then the bad will continue to repeat itself!!!
