I'm sure there are many local heroes from the States where these bases are, but here an idea to just to shake things up a bit. If some want places named after Confederates, how about Gen Longstreet and Col Mosby?

I'm sure we can find heroes local suitable for such honors, but here's a couple of names just to switch things up a bit. I wonder how many would follow the logic of naming a couple of military locations after Gen James Longstreet and Col John Mosby of the CSA?

FT Gordon: Ft Myer has already been taken so I'm going to go with Ft Wig-Wag (the crossed signal flags).

Has anyone noticed the Pentagon said they were changing the names of military bases. Every place on the list is a Fort, take a look at the list and tell me I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will say that's not what they meant to say

History has been written and no matter how hard you try to erase, it can never be erased! They should have left well enough alone to begin with! If any of you have ever traced your family history you might find out some interesting facts about your families! My parental family ancestors are from the south Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Alabama! Haven't found any military answers about the civil war, but did find out one of my ancestors from Virginia fought in the Revolutionary War!

Well, being these bases were named after someone in the Confederate Army. It should not mater. They were still great warriors and very like by alot of people. They were still also American servicemen. Some even went West Point. So does it really matter? It should not. Yet, some people still have a rumble in their stomach over the situation. They fought for something and a place they believed in.
