Doesn't matter if you agree with this move or not - it's been directed and it's happening. What are your suggestions for renaming the following bases?

- Fort Bragg
- Fort Rucker
- Fort Benning
- Fort Gordon
- Fort Hood
- Fort Polk
- Fort A.P. Hill
- Fort Belvoir
- Fort Lee
- Fort Pickett

Not to name them after any individual since the next woke generation might be offended and we have to go through this again wasting taxpayers money.

It's 2023. We need MANY, MANY more women to serve in uniform.

We need women veterans to be HONORED in society as often as men.

Soooooo.... let's name more bases after WOMEN! The iconic Navy pilot Rosemary Mariner immediately comes to mind!

I am going to back in to this, and I know I will probably take some flak for it, but that's ok. I don't agree with the overall concept. That being said, in my readings, I have learned that Braxton Bragg was generally thought of as incompetent. That makes me wonder who thought he was worthy of having an installation named after him.

To save some money, there are 2 Forts that could remain the same. Fort Polk could remain Fort Look if they started it is being named after James K Polk, 11th President and Edward S. Bragg a Union General who was Braxton Bragg's (Confederate General) cousin

These names represent heroes for those who live in the states they exist. I am a transplanted Yankee in N. Carolina and an Air Force Vet, yet I can almost tell you where most of these Forts are located just by their name. Yes, leave it alone, but if you have to change the names, name them after modern day war heroes from the states these Forts exist.

Maybe do the same at Ft. Benning, as it is the home of Jump School.

While it will always be Ft. Bragg to me, if they decide they must change the name, then name it after an Airborne or Special Forces Hero. Ft. Bragg IS the home of Airborne, and Special Forces after all. I was personally with the 82nd Airborne Division.

Thinking about the other bases but Fort Polk should be renamed ...... Fort Polk, for James Knox Polk, the 11th President of the United States who served from 1845 - 1849. He died in 1849, three months after leaving office, thus having no connection to the Confederacy.
