I am a USMC Poolee in the DEP currently. I leave for Boot Camp in about a month and a half & after that follows Infantry Training Battalion at the School of Infantry East. Is there any specific advice, tips, and what not I should know about to help me through Boot Camp &/or ITB? Specifics are welcome. Thank you.

Best advice is to do what is asked of you, and pay attention to detail.

(Join to see) Listen and be observant of everything around you. Be squared away and help your fellow recruits when you can. Quitting is not an option on any task, so be prepared to give it your maximum effort. Earning the title of Marine will be well worth the effort.

Enjoy new challenges and adventures! Please keep us posted when you complete Boot Camp and ITB.

Calisthenics (push ups, pull ups, dips), planks, jump rope (for conditioning and footwork) and 2-3 miles of wind sprints.

For the wind sprints, it's easiest on a track because everything is already measured out. I recommend running 100 meters and then walking 100 meters. Do that for 2 to 3 miles (8 to 12 laps) and that can be one workout in itself.

At Parris Island don’t think just do what they say! No matter what...do not quit!!! Even if you have nothing left in you do not quit! ALWAYS make %100 effort! As for SOI and MCT absolutely, take care of your feet!!!! Change socks frequently, any chace you get!! The forced marches are brutal on your feet. Like many before you, you can become one of the elite warriors in the Marine Corps!! Good Luck

Do what you’re told, the way you’re told, went you’re told.
And run a lot, I mean, a lot!
