A pet-friendly hotel room to go househunting while starting my first civilian job out of the service. My dog and I got to stay together while I searched for a house to rent. It was my first big expenditure, and I was proud I could afford it.

I actually didn't make any big purchases after I separated, I couldn't afford anything. It was another 3 years before I bought a new cell phone, laptop, and tablet for school. Of course, my old laptop was almost breaking in half - literally, I had tried to close the lid and forgot I had a pen resting in the joint - at that point, and it was well over 5 years old. I (we) also bought my kids new beds, since we ditched their old beds when we moved to Colorado.

I just traded my 2015 Jeep Wrangler, that I bought new in 2015 in for a new 2021 Ford Explorer. I had both the hard and soft top for it. I had changed the standard headlights for LED lights and WOW What a difference that made for night driving! I upgraded the bumpers from the very poor excuse that Jeep puts on their vehicles to some STEEL Bumpers! I had two different vehicles bump the plastic ones and they just dented. After the steel bumpers went on I had one person back into me and it broke their license plate cover and frame. Then I had someone hit my back bumper and it pushed their bumper into their grill. I also changed out the gas cap and cover to a locking gas cap. I put on a front bug deflector across the hood. Installed a pair of hood locks, lug locks on all five tires, and a grille cover, and signal, turn, and brake light covers. It was a great Jeep. I was sad to trade it in but the lack of service from Jeep made that decision a little easier to take! Stay safe and healthy one and all!:-)

A four inch lift, set of 35 inch tires and wheels for my Jeep. Ohh and I paid off my Jeep as well.

4" lift and 35" tires! That rocks! Maybe I need to add a lift kit to mine... #SevenSlotClub!

An Alaskan cruise with my husband and son. Never been to Alaska, this was a perfect gift to both me and my husband as we both retired within a year of each other.
