Is there a church there he can stand in front of with a bible that he might right side up this time? This of of course after his tear gas and rubber bullet squad clears the way.

A typical uninformed comment. Tear gas was not used at Lafayette Park. Smoke was. Curfew was at 7 p.m. and the protesters once again violated it. U.S. Park Police issued a statement claiming that "At approximately 6:33 p.m., violent protestors on H Street NW began throwing projectiles including bricks, frozen water bottles, and caustic liquids. That's when the square was closed. They refused to move and so they popped spoke. No big deal. Smoke is not tear gas which I'm intimately familiar with. As an army military policeman that had been deployed and involved in several riots I know it well. I've got some funny stories I could tell but I won't take up your time. I will say that I just watched an Air Force basic training video of you Lads going into the gas chamber. Poor things. 5 Seconds. When we went through you went in one at a time and took your mask off and you stayed there answering questions until the drill sergeant was done asking you questions and then and only then did he or she tell you you could leave. I got a big kick out of that. I don't usually engage in inter-service rivalry but this one was too rich to pass up. Nonetheless, thank you for your service. I truly mean that. It's not like you're going to deploy CS on a C-130.

Let's get to the point. So what if the president held the Bible upside down? It's not sacrilegious. It is what it is. White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said the president wanted to send "a very powerful message that we will not be overcome by looting, by rioting, by burning" and compared Trump's visit to British Prime Minister Winston Churchill's inspection of bomb damage during the London Blitz in World War II.

The president was making a powerful statement. That is that you cannot attack the White House as protesters did. You cannot burn down the famous St John's Church as they tried to. It didn't go over well with some people but it was approved of equally by others.

SSG Robert Ricci blah blah blah pretty funny when the whole thing was filmed and he was not invited to the church or talked to the bishop. He even had the priest of the church removed from the front of church. Hypocrite he is

MSgt Michael Bischoff I guess my expectation of RP users is that they operate at a level above Facebook users and save the invectives and sarcasm. I think that most of us know that if we were face-to-face and standing toe-to-toe a lot of the crap slinging wouldn't happen. That's because there would be no anonymity and an ability to hide in the shadows of the internet. We're adults and above that.

Tear gas was not used. Flash bangs and smoke were. As stated, the park was ordered cleared at 1833 hrs. The crowd as typical refused to budge. They began throwing rocks and bottles and being as disruptive as it could be. You would like to believe that the United States Park Service, a respected law enforcement agency, lied in it's reports. At any rate, pop smoke throw the flash bangs. They shouldn't have been there if they didn't want to get scared.

I will concede to you that I haven't got a clue what President Trump was up to. All I can say is that he was at a famous Church visited by all presidents that "the peaceful protesters" tried to burn down what was it just a night before? This is an iconic Church I believe he was trying to point out with still standing. I believe he was trying to send a message the try as you might we're here and we're not going to let you run a muck. How he went about that can be legitimately questions. Previous reports indicate that he had an open invitation just not on that particular day. He wasn't expected.

As far as holding the Bible upside down, I have been a Christian on my life. The Bible is not a delicate book that you have to carry with sanctity and make sure to always hold it up the correct way. It's a book. In Christianity it is a very powerful book - actually a set of books if you want to be accurate. 66 books that are considered to be infallible and perfect. But one does not need to wear clean white gloves and read it in a clean room. Like our flag, it is a symbol. One that we revere. One has to ask themselves how far out on the line they want to go to make an issue of the fact that he had it upside down before losing their own credibility. Was it a publicity stunt? Who knows?

But the main issue is that tear gas was not used. Your eagerness to believe the protesters the turn into rioters as soon as the sun goes down, which was approaching, is probably the point at which you stop believing facts. You're welcome to attack the facts as they are known and published but I'd appreciate that more than you attacking me personally with sarcastic comments. That's below the honor and integrity of a Master Sergeant. I welcome intellectual debates but not personal debasing. Roger that?
