What would you do if your chain of command slacks on promotions?

Stop worrying! Like you said, you are in the middle of redeployment. Get your Soldiers home, then worry about your promotion ceremony. I have waited much longer than 15 days after making a list before.

I got promoted during the initial mess after 9/11. l waited over a month for pinning, and then one day, my 1SG looks at me and says, "why are you still wearing ...?" I told him I hadn't yet been pinned, so he pinned me the next formation. It didn't affect my date-of-rank, or my pay. Both of those were on time.

Don't worry. You made the list and nothing can change that. As you know, our Soldiers come first. Once you are back home we can all celebrate with you. I was checking the list every month since you guys left to see if you've made it. Now I can be able to be there to see you pinned! You worked hard and this is a well deserved promotion!
