What would you do if your CSM was ignoring uniform and grooming standards? (CSM Flournoy)

There comes a point when you just have to stand up and call a spade a spade. Will you pay for it? Absolutely. But that's your chance to take it up the chain or out of the command altogether to bring attention to an obvious wrong. If you have anyone in your chain worth a shit, they'll do what can be done to lessen the pain you'll face. That said, if a jacked up CSM yells at me at a family member's funeral, rank be damned, Army be damned. We're going to deal with this situation outside. At that point, keeping this inhouse won't be an option for anyone.

I once bounced a guy out of an Auto Hobby shop because he had more hair than a unit ballcap cover could fit, his lame excuse was just having gotten back from deployment with no barber on his ship. I was on a submarine with 160 people, I can tell you that there is always someone who can provide a reasonably good haircut.

I retired as a MSgt, after 26 years of duty in 10 years DOD civilian duty. THE AIR FORCE IS GONE TO HELL IN A BASKET THE STANDARDS OR NON-EXISTENT THIS IS BECAUSE OF OUR EXECUTIVE BRANCH. I am sickened by what I've seen that goes on in the military tattoos on the neck. Men with beards 2 in thick, women with their hair hanging down their back, WOMEN WITH SHAVED HEADS. There are NO grooming standards, THERE IS NO DISCIPLINE IN UNITED STATES AIR FORCE NOT THE DISCIPLINE THAT I ENCOUNTERED AND THE INTEGRITY THAT I HELD AS A SENIOR NCO. QUIT FOLLOWING THE CROWD QUIT ALLOWING HOMOSEXUALS AND TRANSVESTITES INTO WHAT WAS THE BEST AIR FORCE IN THE WORLD! I'm now retired. I went into the Wilford Hall hospital to get treatment and there was a SrA, Male Who opened up to me. He told me he was embarrassed by the Air Force that there were three lesbians and a transvestite where he worked at and they got preferential treatment because they were FREAKS! This is his words not mine but I agree with him. He said he is NOT going to re-enlist because he hates the Air Force because they have destroyed it!!! I SAW SAW A DOD EMPLOYEE I PRESUME WAS A MALE 6'4 WEARING A MINI SKIRT HIGH HEELS AND FISHNET LEG HOSE, I hysterically started laughing because I thought it was a stunt and this person was offended??? He should be embarrassed that he represents the United States Air Force the greatest in the world now. Diminished to the scum of the earth. Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force. Get your crap together, and restore our dignity to what it was. Not a laughing stock of freaks!!

This is sickening. The Sergeant Major should be disciplined. She must be a DEI or affirmative action type!

You are an officer and she's enlisted....what have you done to correct the violations? When I was an E-5, I was walking down the sidewalk and met an E-3 walking with an E-7. She was wearing a field jacket but it wasn't closed. I pointed out the infraction to her and the E-7 jumped in and told me I shouldn't be correcting one of his airmen. As tactfully as I could, I informed him that he was right...HE SHOULD HAVE CORRECTED HER. While chewing my ass out, he wanted to know who I worked for and I informed him I was on the Wing Commander's staff. That was the end of the conversation. I know the military has changed since then but I doubt they have removed the responsibility to address infractions when you become aware of them. Just my two sense worth!

Sounds like politics is running the unit. Sounds like the whole unit needs swept out. If the Commander wouldn't/didn't address the issue they need to go too! You should get ready for retaliation and document everything... Present it to the IG and keep a copy...

The Army Regulations have changed as the the way our sisters can wear their hair in uniform, believe it or not, she is now within regulation.

All I've got to say is God almighty said, "Render unto Caeser what is his." Absent a Biblical reason we are to follow orders. I don't believe this individual has any basis for their stance. I would also question, as many of you have, how did she make it this far.

Come on give her a break. She was just following orders. 'DO AS I SAY; NOT AS I DO' attitude. Given her her retirement papers.
