Swimming. On average I swim between 6 to 8 miles per week.

I am in better shape when I mix, swimming, cross country skying (Winter) or Hiking (Summer) and some bicycle.

Rucking is surprisingly good exercise as long as you don't overdo it or run the whole time. Swimming is also good, it uses the whole body and won't murder your joints.

For myself, it's just running 4-6 miles and sometimes more if I can squeeze it in the PT hour. Most effective for me is when I switch to 30/60s sprints and repeat that workout 10x.

Cadet PVT (Join to see) My goal is tp walk 10,000 steps a day. The most effective cardio exercise is one that you can fit into your schedule and do on a regular basis.

As you are a cadet, learn to embrace the suck........and run.
For some reason the Military thinks it is a good thing.

Elliptical is great on the off days, but for better or worse nothing beats running for cardio.
