When it comes to MOS-T, does break in service matter?

For instance if you’ve been out for 5 years and reenlist with a different MOS, should you be in general population or are you considered MOS-T and get housed separate from IET soldiers?

Usually PS and IET are separated if those accommodations can be met. It'll be up to local policy. I've done 3 AITs (2 as PS). In my first AIT, we had two SGTs that were reclassifying and were put with IETs. My second, I was with the IETs in the same barracks but down the hall "away" from them. 3rs AIT I was in completely different barracks.
I would think it would depend on the school and the command on where you would be placed. Five years is quite a break and you’re coming in as E-3.

I had 8 years prior and an eight year break in between the return. I had to retake all the Armed Forces entrance exams, physical etc but left as a SSgt and came back as a SSgt but lost the 4 years time in grade due to the length of time I was out.. I retained the 7 level AFSC I had though. I did well on promotions though and within the next 14 years advanced to SMSgt a rank I held for 5 years and turned down CMSgt and retired after 22 years in uniform.
I Switched from the Marines To the Army and didn’t have to go back on Basic went straight to IET and was Housed Separate from the Boots and and a whole lot more Freedom, my Roommate was an MOS-T and it was the same for him
