If someone is doing something dumb enough to irritate someone to the point they call you out then it most likely doesn’t matter if it’s stolen valor or not you’re probably being an embarassement to the uniform and need to correct whatever it is you’re doing. Rarely do I see a stolen valor video where someone is unjustly called out.

I am with you except I know a young Marine (myself) and letting it go isn't an option yet I know I am giving him what he wants. Same old song and dance. If you do somwthing you look like an ass and if you don't you feel like a pussy.

There are service men and women who put their life on the line every day. To have a creep portray him or her self as someithey are not should be a prison sentence

Stolen valor’s are a part of society without an understanding of the military disrespecting those who served

Anyone who is obviously trying to steal valor should be called out. In any case, respect should be shown to everyone. Yeah it pisses me off when I busted my ass to earn what I did. The whole blood sweat and tears is no understatement. I'm still struggling. I get annoyed with civilians just for saying they understand because they have a family member who served. It's all bullshit and we just have to roll are eyes and cuss under our breath and be ok with the fact that we were strong enough to get the job done. They may be ungrateful fuckers who don't have a clue, but we have to continue to maintain our composure when faced any issue. The struggle is real lol but we have to lead by example. If someone mistakenly calls out a true veteran, you better apologize profusely and offer to buy em a drink.

I knew a guy who for years said he was a Navy seal in Vietnam. I knew he wasn't but I let him think I didn't know. (Family member) .my wife and I both served in the Navy. It was easy to find this out. He had a seal tattoo, had the rest of the family believing it. We didn't want to embarrass him. As the years went by and the stolen valor act came into being he had his tattoo covered over with a combat medic tattoo. We never inquired about it but we knew. Some of the family still think he was a seal. I'm don't know if he was a combat medic. I do know he was a Navy corpsman. I guess he just needed to elevate himself.

I spent 10 years in service to my country and I earned everyone of the ribbons and medals that were given to me. I feel that a person that steals the ribbons and medals that they are wearing should be punished under the law. They did not earn them so they have no right to wear them. If you want to wear the honors that are given and that you have to earn then join the ranks and become a part of something that is bigger then you are.
