I'm new to this, but as a former NCO in the Army, we who have served an earned our scars, really don't care about these Yahoo's.... sometimes I see people trying to be what they aren't and it ticks me off a bit, but I always shake it off, we know, and only we know what brothers in arms is about. If you don't go, you don't know

as long as the person isn’t bringing shame to the military or using the stolen valor to gain access to a base to steal secrets/ cause harm I say just leave them be. Usually it’s some homeless person who found some improperly disposed of uniform trying to get a free meal. Only thing that does irk me is when a real service member wears warfare devices, Awards or ranks they didn’t earn.

It should never happen. I got kicked out due to my own stupidity. But I still respect our military and my brothers.

I think part of the problem is these young buck haven't experienced memory dump yet. At one point I used to be able to recite all my orders and many articles. Now I have forgotten most of my stuff dron my time in the corps and over half the stuff I've learned in college. If you don't use it you lose it. Also through the years I've lost/ broken many of my uniform parts; I no longer have that 24 inch waist. Some how I've even managed to lose all the boot laces out of like 6 pairs of boots. And I'm only 30 so I can only imagine what I'll be like when I get older.

There has always been pretenders and always will be. They exist in every profession, although it is not right, you need to see it for what it really is, imitation is a compliment, they just wish they could be like you. If you really want to call someone out, you need to be intelligent about it. In a very calm and interested manner, you simply start asking questions, simple ones at first, so they can get them correct, then when you see that they think you are hooked, you drop the bombshell, the question only a true professional would know the answer to. Stand back and watch them stammer and stutter and try to wiggle out of it. It is really quite entertaining, they know they're busted and your point is proven in a professional manner without you getting worked up or causing a scene. Mission accomplished.
This will also keep you from looking like an ass if you are mistaken.

the same thing has happened to me by a Former Marine turned Cop. He never got the facts, and charged me with impersonation, only later to be dropped in court when I showed my proof. but to this day, I still deal with people who only know what they heard and read, and don't want to know anything else.

For some reason I could not see the video. I have said this in the past. I do not beleave it is worth confronting people about. These folks have a mental problem.
