This happened early this morning. The crook shot five times is in critical condition. The other male was captured. When are these guys going to realize, if they break in a home in Pasadena, Texas, they are going to be killed. I don't go anywhere without my weapons.
PASADENA, TX (KTRK) -- Pasadena police are still looking for a woman following an attempted home invasion that ended in gunfire.

It happened early this morning at a home in the 5100 block of Turnberry Court near Cherry Hills Lane.

Police say a male and female went to the home and were talking with the homeowner inside. A third person, who had been waiting in the man and woman's car outside, then came into the home with a shotgun, police say.

The homeowner had his own weapon, a semi automatic pistol, and shot the man with the shotgun five times. That man went to hospital in critical condition.

The original man and woman took off. Police later captured the male, but they are still looking for the female.

Excellent article. I only wish our liberal politicians would notice that wherever law-abiding citizens are prevented from defending themselves, the violent crime rates go up. And on the other end of the spectrum, I've never heard a story of a criminal attempting to rob a gun range during business hours.

Col Joseph Lenertz, me either Sir. I go to an indoor range where they have monitors everywhere. You have to push a button for them to let you in. They are packing heat on them and around them. Unless a crook wants to commit suicide, they better not try.

Actually, I did hear a story of a pair of crooks who decided to hold up a bar. After pulling their guns on the barkeep and announcing the holdup, the heard about 20 metallic clicks. Turning, they realized they were facing almost 2 dozen guns. Turns out the crooks had decided to hold up a bar that was a hangout for off-duty police.

A few years ago we had an incident here in corpus were three guys kicked down a door and invaded a home while the family was sleeping. The following is an actual transcript of the conversation between my wife and I after we watched the news story.

Wife: are you awake? what would you do if they kicked down our door and came into our house in the middle of the night?

Me: call the police and ask them to come and remove the bodies from my hallway. Go to sleep honey.

Texas has thousands of cranky Vietnam combat vets who own a variety of handguns. The vast majority have at least one type of mental issue as documented by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affaiirs. Don't piss them off.

North Dakota is trying to pass that your drivers license is your CC permit. Very gun friendly state.

MSgt John Grollimund, I don't understand how that would work. Drivers licenses can be made easy for crooks. Are they going to have to complete a course?

SGT (Join to see) - If it's anything like Kansas, the DL number is the same as the CC. They made the two separate a few years ago after allowing the option of them being on just the DL solely because the CC has to be renewed every 4 years and the DL is every 7ish. All authorized CC can be traced back when police run your DL through the system though.

When Will Crooks Realize Texan Homeowners Have Guns Out The Kazoo?

We Texans love our guns and we are not afraid to use them. We shoot to relieve stress, have fun and defend our families, property and neighbors. Get togethers often turn to gun talk and its not unheard of for three or four people in that conversation to go their trucks and pull out the weapons to just show them off. We put gun-makers stickers on our vehicles and wear apparel to advertise our favorite brand of gun or knife. Most of us feel naked if we don;t have one of our many knives on us.

Knowing all of this, if somebody is stupid enough to break into one of our houses, they deserve to be shot!

Arizona is also a right to carry state, and crime is pretty low compared to other states.

Castle Doctrine/Stand Your Ground laws RULE.

I dunno Sergeant, BUT the more crooks you shoot, the less of a burden on society they are. Shoot 'Em and give the homeowners medals for Meritorious Action....Anyone reading this who lost a loved one who was killed while that loved one was in the commission of a felony, I understand you still grieve for them. If they had not been criminals they would be alive today.

Another case where gun ownership prevented a felony with a potential homecoming. I love living in Texas.

The home owner was on the local news today. He said after the guy went down, he was going to shoot him in the head, but thought about it and didn't. He was very pissed. The perps were some Hispanics that were working for him remodel his home he had just bought. Gotta be careful and aware all the time. I don't go anywhere but church without my weapon. I carry it when I put out the garbage. Last year a man that lives in the same area as this homeowner, was taking out his trash and was ambushed by three crooks. They beat him and his wife and stole everything they could. They were in their 80's.

Were not the only ones with weapons but you have less chance here if you
caught in the act.

SGT Edward Thomas, crime with handguns is on the rise in Houston. These idiots that want guns banned don't know what they're talking about. They will be the first ones to cry wolf when they get jacked up.

I didn't even consider the city size differential. I think crime with handguns is going up everywhere. I'm thinking Alabama is finally on the right track with the "castle doctrine". They're finally figuring it out that your vehicle is an extension of your home. Here in Mobile, our criminals need to all be on worlds dumbest criminals.
