With the new Paramedic cert for flight medics, I would reenlist for flight medic school if that is an option and not worry about special duty assignments.

I just tried to reenlist for flight medic and fiscal year 2016 is full. Best to get your packet in and get on the OML for 2017. My only other options were Hood, Bliss, Polk, or Irwin unless you want Wainwright or Korea. Best of luck!

Any Special Operations group should require SOCM which is a W1 identifier if not that then the minimum would be F2 or F3 to be on that team.
Just about every line unit in the Army has 68W slots. You should be able to go anywhere you want. If you have choice of assignment as a reenlistment option, going to Benning where many of the Army's special schools are is a good choice for getting some great training opportunities.

Now that you know you can go anywhere, the next question you ask yourself is where do you really want to go. Are you currently assigned to an MTOE unit or TDA? Many like to stay in the line and so does many like to hide in the clinic/hospitals. So then the next question is what inspires you to give it your very best. Personally, there's only a few duty stations I would go and certain things I would want or rather do but we don't always get what we want. You may get the location but not a position or vice versa. You're still young, age or rank, and there's plenty of opportunities to choose from.
