Where ever the needs of the Army are. That’s how you should always look at it unless you have the deciding factor on your end I.e. reenlisent ensentive and such . Just make the best of it no matter where, this is coming from 10 years of being in the Infantry.

I loved Germany (as a Tanker). Prior to that, as an infantryman I was also at Lewis, Campbell, Knox and Dix. Visited Hood after getting out. I loved what 1SG Boynton said re: inhospitable etc. Have met guys that have been all over & to me, the theme seems to be: "pine trees (or whatever"s native), sand, and mud". At least in Europe you'll experience different (great) food, beverages, and sights. We think things are "old" here that are 200 years old, over there that's pretty new.... Lots of military history of our fighting forces there too !

If you like Virginia go Old Guard or if you can get it Eustis. Great place to be and spend time with the family. Only minutes away from the beach , and if you are into history everything is there.
