You go and sign in at the nearest VA clinic or Hospital- take any paperwork you have on injuries, service, etc. They will probably do a physical and then set down with you. You might talk to one of the Vet groups to act for you with the paperwork.

Contact John McFerran, Veterans Service Officer: [login to see]
Also try Jose Melecio at the Vet Center: [login to see]
If you have any more trouble, email me at [login to see] and I'll help you deal with this personally. Thanks for what you've given to your country, Howard!

That is probably the most user unfriendly site I have ever seen.
I guess they don't agree with the Keep it Simple Soldier philosophy their's is more like the MIC principle Make It Complicated

Have your paperwork reviewed by a DAV rep. Can answer a lot of your questions. VA math is confusing. There are 3 different departments within the VA and you need to enroll in them all. They do not talk to each other.

Apply at your local VA. Combat isn't required to get your injuries examined at the VA hospital. Follow the same procedure as combat vets... As long as you served and became injured while doing so, you qualify.
Best wishes and good luck.
