Any of the lakes in New Hampshire and Maine are great fishing venues. I love Winni in New Hampshire, it has large and small mouth bass and all the other species you love to fish for.

I do a trip every year up to Maine. The Belgrade lakes are all pretty good. I had a couple good days on Mattanawcook and the surrounding ponds in Lincoln, ME and Cobbosseecontee outside Augusta. I haven't actually fished Winni. Hopefully I'll make it up there this summer to visit Cpl Tim Callahan and Ryan Callahan.

In New Hampshire - Go to Winni, or Squam, in Maine - Sabego, Long lake, China Lake and the list can go on and on. IN VT or NY Lake Champlain is awesome as well

I love Squam. My uncle just caught an estimated 8lb'er there this summer. I was up in the Belgrade area last week on a fishing trip hoping to get to China but they had a fishing tournament that day. We went up to Lincoln, ME and did well in that area. Last year we had a good trip on Cobbosseecontee.

I don't know about the other states, but Connecticut puts out a decent guide every year that includes details about most of the fishing lakes and rivers in the state, including species and access points. Here's the 2015 version: http://www.ct.gov/deep/lib/deep/fishing/anglers_guide/anguide.pdf
