The wife and I are going to hit Vegas (again) after 13 years to have another honeymoon. Obviously the place has changed since 2011. What's the best place to be?

I've Lived In Vegas, Permanently, Since Around 1996 Or So.
But To Come For A Visit, Many Things Need To Be Considered,
#1,, Gambling ~ Do Not Gamble ON The Strip. Go Off The Strip Or Even Down Town.
Many Reasons ~ Slots Pay More Frequently ~ Larger Pay-Outs For Same Games ~
~ Better Gambling Rules Off The Strip - In Your Favor., ~ Friendlier Atmosphere.~
Get A Hotel Room OFF Strip, They're Just As Nice But Less Expensive ~ Best Room Rates From Sunday Evening To The Following Thursday Evening. ~~ Strip Hotels Now Charging To Park Your Car - Off Strip Free. ~~ Coming For Shows?... Get Rooms OFF The Strip & Take A Cab To And From The Shows.. Much Easier Than Finding A Parking Space, And The Walk Into The Hotel Is Only A Few Steps, And You'll Avoid The Crowds .. And, Be Generous - Tip Well, Many Jobs Don't PAY Sh*t & The People Rely On Your Tips To Pay Their Bills.~~ ~ OH ~~ IF Possible AVOID Our Summer Months, Gets Hotter Than All "L"...Example: Today Is May 24th, And Today's Temp Will Be Hitting 96 ~ Now 10:25 Am; It's 86 Degrees ~~ Starting In June +/- Temps Will Hit 100+ Constantly. And Will Remain As Such Until Mid September To The 1st Week In October..... Anything Else? (702) 651 -8640 If You Need Further Assistance OR Call "Dial-A-Prayer"

I stayed at the M Resort a couple years ago and honestly loved it. Way less crowded than the Strip spots, and their rooms felt newer and cleaner. Plus, the casino didn’t feel overly packed or too smoky, which is a huge plus for me. I also liked Red Rock when I visited a friend – really laid back and the outdoor views are amazing. Aria was fun too, but it’s definitely busier and more glitzy, which can be a little too much if you're just looking to chill and have a relaxing time.
If you're into online stuff too or just want to compare deals before committing to a casino visit, you might want to look at places that do reviews of bonuses. I’ve been checking out options through https://bonusburst.com
Good way to see which places are generous and actually worth depositing with.

I love questions like this, You'll get so many different answers depending on what others feel is the best, for them. I used to love Ceasars for the best. Then I liked the MGM. But now I favor the not-so-well known. A bit less people and they comp much faster than the bigger ones.

The Last Time I Saw Caesars Palace Was Over 20 Years Ago, ~ And I Live In Vegas.~
And At That Time It Was Still One Of The Finest Around; But For Gambling ~ Get OFF The Strip Entirely And Go To What's Referred As "The Local's Casino" ~The Neighborhood Casinos.~ The Slots Cost Less To Play, Yet Pay-Out More. ~ Example: If You Place A Quarter In A Slot On The Strip , It May Pay Out $2.00 ~ That Same Quarter Hitting The Same Items On The Slot In A Locals Casino, Might Pay Out $3.00... Much Better Odds With Higher Pay Out; . And We Still Have Many Great Meals ~ ALSO Less Expensively

My husband and I like South Point. It's on the southern end of the strip, on the other side of the airport. It has really high ceilings, lots of great restaurants, a bowling alley, and even a very nice movie theater. We go 2 or 3 times a year as a family member lives in Vegas.

Thanks, But Just Out Of Curiosity I Looked It Up Because I Was Somewhat Surprised,
But I Really Shouldn't Have; From What I've Been Told, Because This Town Changes So Much, If One Hasn't Been Here For 6 Months, It's Difficult To Racialize It's The Same Place... One Of My Rental Units Is In A Group Of Condos On North Bruce & Stewart Avenue And When There's An Issue , She Contacts A Building Contractor I'd Hired Over 25 Years Ago, Then He Contacts Me For Repairs Approval ~~ I AIN''T Seen That Place In Over 20 Years And It Sits About 6 Block From Down Town Vegas. ~ Tourists Know More About Vegas Than I Do. ~~ Just As You Know About The South Point. LOL ~
~ I DKS About That Part Of Town ~~ Our Local Casino, "The Cannery", Is Exactly ~ Door To Door ~ 1 Mile From My Place.~
~~ BTW - How IS Vegas Doing, Any Idea? ~~ LOL

A1C Medrick "Rick" DeVaney - When we come, we rarely go up on the strip, or into other casinos. I don't really know about how Vegas is doing, though.

As Previously Stated: I Live About 10 Miles From The Strip
And I Haven't Even Seen It In Over 20 Years. It's Like Living Across The Street From Disney Land In Anaheim, CA; I'd Almost Bet "There's A Multitude Of The Folks Whom Live In That Area Have Seldom Been There Either". They're Available For The Tourists And Too Darned Expensive To Visit On Any Form Of Regular Basis.

Hey MSG Livingston!
I have lived in the Vegas area for quite a few years now. Here are our favorites and probably the best places to stay.
3. Red Rock Casino - Great location off the strip. It's in the more affluent area of Vegas (Summerlin). There's tons of good food at better prices around there. There's probably the best hospital in the valley there (hopefully you'll never need it). The slots here are probably the most tight.
2. Green Valley Ranch Casino and Spa - The slots are loose here while the tables are a bit high. They have one of the best Pizza places in the US. Pizza Rock has won numerous awards in Italy for the best pizza. That should say something. The BBQ is ok but the beer selection is probably second to none here. They have a full service spa and it's ok but, a little pricey. Negative though it's SUPER smokey and you catch a contact high at the roulette table from so many people smoking weed. Besides that, it's a great place.
1. The M Casino and Resort - This place is 100% our favorite and definitely a locals casino. It's NEVER packed. It's still on the blvd but all the way at the Henderson end (in the good area). The M has it all. They have a spa, a phenomenal pool, they're the sponsor hotel for the LV Raiders, and their food is top notch. Make reservations at Marinellis for some good Italian bistro-styled food and a good steak at Anthony's another night. There's also a piano bar, live music most every night at the other bar in the slots area. There's a shuttle, for the tour, to the Raiders training buildings and field (it's damn near behind the hotel). There are tons of videos on YT about this hotel and it's our suggestion. Not sure I'd bring kids though. It's not too kid friendly (which is definitely a +++ for us as ours are all grown).
On a side note, some of the absolute best and cheap food in the Vegas area is at the Village Pubs around the area. They're never busy, open 24/7 they have phenomenal daily specials at $9.99 (like primerib on Sat... What?!). Plus, there's 4 locations less than 5 miles away. Oh yeah Costco is about 3 miles down the street if that. So if you wanna do food and necessities on the cheap, you got that too.

If you are going to shows and want to be close on the strip, my wife and I always stay at the Park MGM or the upscale top 4 floors Nomad Hotel, If I get compted rooms ot a substantial discount. MGM is military friendly with discounts and you automatically qualify for their Pearl level members card. What I like about the Park MGM is it is a small boutique hotel, completely smoke free, not a huge casino so you don’t have to walk for miles through a noisy, smokey casino to get to the elevators. Has some very nice onsite restaurants, Eataly is in it which is a really nice Italian market environment with fresh made fare of all kinds. The Dolby Live theater is connected so if you are seeing a concert there , no leaving the hotel. It is right next to TMobile arena so just a short walk across a quad to get there. Aliegent stadium is just on the other side of the freeway so a short walk. Right next to NYNY and across the street from MGM grand. If you want to stay on strip, this is our go to place. Highly recommend.

True, but I am retired so I try to avoid the weekends, but there are good rates during the summer even on weekends, relatively speaking. I know I couldn’t afford them when I was an A1C.

EXCELLENT IDEA ~~ During The Summer Months And Week-Ends Throughout The Year,
AVOID VEGAS !! And When I Was STILL An A1C, In 1965, With About 3 Years Time In Grade, Including Overseas Pay, Isolated Hardship Duty Pay, And Some OTHER STUFF,
I Was Knocking Down $173.00 Per MONTH. ~~ The Really BIG Bucks .(:-)>

$175 in 1965 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $1,753.36 today, an increase of $1,578.36 over 60 years. The dollar had an average inflation rate of 3.92% per year between 1965 and today, producing a cumulative price increase of 901.92% .
