I was a young kid in 8th grade, sick at home that day. My mom had the TV on and she was crying, and that's when I saw on the news that the towers were hit. I was too naive to know what was really happening!

I was stationed at Fort Riley, KS with the 82 Med Co (AA). At the time of the attacks we were currently deployed to Camp Doha Kuwait and I as a Flight Instructor was busy training the next crew to be sent. After the planes crashed into the towers I got a call telling me to get ready cause I was headed to Kuwait in less than 60 days. Turns out we were part of the support package in Kuwait helping to train up the forces headed to Afghanistan as part of OEF I.

I was a lowly PFC with the 1-187 INF. who hadn't been out of AIT very long. We got the call to get back to base ASAP and we started prepping for deployment that we knew was going to happen. A month and a half later, we were touching down in Kandahar, Afghanistan!

I was deployed to Al Jaber In Kuwait in support of Southern Watch at the time. We watched in horror the second plane fly into the Towers. The men and women I served with in the 822 SFS were great and we took the battle to the enemy in the days to follow

I too was deployed at the time, and I also remember a busy couple of weeks that followed.

I was a medical student, post-call, on the Internal Medicine service at Darnall US Army Hospital, the post was placed on Delta, and we were directed to move our vehicles away from the hospital building.

I was headed into work that morning, expecting a 2 day underway training exercise. That 2 day underway turned into a 3+ week event named Operation Noble Eagle.

I
was stationed at FT Eustis, VA as a Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course
(BNCOC) Small Group Leader (SGL). When the first plane hit, I was writing 1059s
for my students who were soon to graduate. I remember all in my office were
discussing that it would be a great weapon to use against us. At that moment we
all believed the crash may have still been accidental. Then, we watched as the
2nd crashed into the towers. The post we
were on was locked down. I remember the
mass confusion that ensued from the Soldiers and family members on base. Parents trying to get to their children who
were schooled off base, but we were locked down. That is one day that has been burned into my
memory. That was the day that changed
the Armed Forces to what you see and know today.

I was in AIT that morning. Training was cancelled for the day. It was certainly a bit chaotic.

I was the station commander of a recruiting station in Pekin il. I was having coffee getting ready when the first plane hit. Set and watch seeing the other rushed to the office where we watched all day people in and out of our office telling of gas prices going up food prices and we were just shocked
