When I was in the Army and going through DLI we all picked on the AF students about how many awards they received just for going through Basic Training. I had to stop picking on them when I got 4 ribbons for a single 6-month deployment.

As far as I can tell, it is the Air Force. Earning anything other than Service Ribbons in the Marine Corps is like pulling teeth, or at least it used to be.

Is this even a question?
US Air Force, and it isn't even close. If the Air National Guard were an option, they'd win going away.

USAF and USN... if only because they use ribbons in lieu of things that Army and Marines use badges for...

While the Air Force is clearly the worst, the Army isn't terribly far behind... When I switched from the Marines to the Army, my ribbon rack doubled within the first year...

I will agree with many who have posted here. If we are only talking "ribbons" it is the Air Force. The Air Force awards ribbons where other services award badges or other devices. Small Arms Expert Marksman is one. So Airmen end up with more ribbons and generally only one badge, sometimes two and no cords or extra stripes.

This is interesting what a way to separate military services. And how do you justify or determine what's easy ?

Right here ... "15 AAMs in 21 years of service" tells me that it must not be too damn hard to get an AAM.

Army Achievement Medals. How many do you have? | RallyPoint
I am a big fan of rewarding deserving Soldiers for going above and beyond in there respective services. My question here is what is the most amount of AAMs you have seen a person wear? My first Platoon Sergeant had been awarded 15 Army Achievement Medals in his 21 years of service. I thought that was a lot but then we had a First Sergeant on my last deployment who had 19. How does one get 19 Army Achievement Medals? That is like one per year....

GySgt Wayne A. Ekblad, your right the Army does hand out AAM and ARCOMs out pretty freely. That is why AF folks love deploying with the Army. Out deployments normally have a "quota" of no more then X% (10 being common) can get a dec.

I do remember briefly seeing that post. I was completely mind blown by the amount. Seemed like a lollipop every year. Of course not saying that they were not earned I don't know the circumstances around the award . But I could see where in achievement medal would be easier to attain then arcom

I don't know this for sure, but I have buddy in the Air Force who seems to have a new ribbon everytime I see him, and he's never even deployed.

While I was in the AF, I would have loved to gotten rid of the longevity and good conduct ribbons and resort to service stripes like the sister services

MSgt Rob Weston, we did get ride of the good cookie for a while, but people complained about heritage and it was brought back.

I think the service stripes look classier in the dress blues. I would like to see these, as well, MSgt Rob Weston

Navy is(or was) stingy. Long duty station(sea service) assignments does not help.
