An Air Force 2A6X2 (Aerospace Ground Equipment Specialist) is primarily responsible for maintaining and repairing Aerospace Ground Equipment for providing the aircraft with electricity, hydraulic pressure and air pressure. Much of their time is spent on turbine and diesel generators. The career field allows individuals to gain experience in electronics and mechanics, and their experience can allow those to stay in aviation, or to work in a similar field in electronics.

Not sure of any special certification to get into a QA profession but I would think there would be opportunities for someone with those qualifications.
