Ah, the Star Trek Kobayashi Maru exercise. There isn't a good solution unless you cheat, which seems to be the pucker factor hype with the Lame Stream media. So our choices are an egotistical crook, an egotistical bull in a china shop, or a socialist who'd likely attempt to triple our current debt. The vote will likely reflect which one you're most afraid of. I'm still trying to figure out the crowd the candidates would bring in with them and if that crowd would be able to restrain the POTUS impulses, especially Trump. The best result may be the Bern in which nothing happens as the Republican controlled Congress won't go for any of it. Unfortunately that can shift on the next election cycle. That's if you believe nothing would be better than the somethings that would otherwise happen.

It is refreshing to see that Star Trek, has useful lessons that teaches current generations. And in keeping with April fools, Cruz is a Kling-On, because Canadian birth as taught by history 1960's class disqualifies him.

Good Idea! I'll go with Mitt Romney.

HRC is the least honest, the most power hungry, and the strongest hater of the military.

She won't just wreck the military, but I fear she would turn what's already a soup sandwich into something even worse. I don't like visualizing what that will look like, but I believe we probably should because I think there's a chance she'll get the job position.

LTC (Join to see) Some are saying that TC is more radical and extreme than DT based at least in part of his willingness to shut down the gvt over a simple vote on the budget strictly because of ideological differences. It's HC over TC if it ever comes down to that.

Cruz, because he wears his religion on his sleeve. He'd accelerate (nuke) the second coming, if you believe in that.

Where is Cruz? He still counts as a top candidate and I definitely don't want to see him as POTUS.

Social Democracy is how Vladimir Lenin sold communism to the people of the Soviet Union, the Russian Social Democratic Workers' Party.

Lot's of things were promised, including Democracy. I'm not going to discount Democracy just because Lenin failed to deliver.

SSG (Join to see) - I guess my approach or selection methodology is far more simple than others. I simply see the same exact people who support current POTUS, supporting Bernie Sanders. Then there are the promises without substantive plan/policy to implement. The problem with democrats, social or otherwise as you termed them, is that they do not just go after big corporations. They also don't take into account the working man who works for corporation. I will go to my grave never, ever, ever, ever, ever believing that more governance is the key to success. Democrats don't stop at taxing the larger corporations, they tax and they burden ANY company or business that is on the threshold of success. They strangle the life out of small business with page after page after page of regulations written by whom? POLITICIANS. Advised by whom? Probably the SAME kind of people who convinced DA that ACU camo was in fact the best camo pattern to grace the Armed Forces. The problem with your plan is that it is a simple sliver of a light that I do not want to see. I do not want to see state regulated business; state regulated education; state regulated religion; STATE REGULATED PERSONAL FREEDOM! No sir Mr. Colwell, you may cite one or two socialist democracies that you deem success, but I have spent enough time, at least in Canada talking to the average man - not the uber-liberal - but a reasonable, hard working farmers, loggers, military, the average person. With ethics, morals, and some kind of a belief system other than Humanism, and they all concern that Canada is ate up like a soup sandwich. (I'm wearing that out I know, I'll try to come up with another euphemism). Maybe because I'm from Texas, maybe because one of the things I hold most dear is freedom, not just mine - but in everyone's - so I cannot support a plan that would take those rights and put them in the hands of a bunch of idiot politicians. You just can't tell me that your candidate's viewpoint does not lead to the erosion of personal freedoms. Because they do - but they tagline it and make us believe it's really OK because it's for "everyone's good". Generally when something is done for "everyone's good", it's not everyone, but it's a select few in power. Sanders is no different.

Under his administration, Russia and then the wider Soviet Union became a one-party communist state governed by the Russian Communist Party. In 1893 he moved to Saint Petersburg and became a senior figure in the Marxist Russian Social Democratic Labour Party. In 1903, he took a key role in a RSDLP schism over ideological differences, leading the Bolshevik faction against Julius Martov's Mensheviks. Encouraging insurrection during Russia's failed Revolution of 1905, he later campaigned for the First World War to be transformed into a Europe-wide proletarian revolution, which as a Marxist he believed would result in the overthrow of capitalism and its replacement with socialism. After the 1917 February Revolution ousted the Tsar and established a Provisional Government, he returned to Russia to campaign for the new regime's removal by a Bolshevik-led government of the soviets.
Lenin played a leading role in the October Revolution of 1917, overthrowing the Provisional Government and establishing a one-party state under the new Communist Party. His government abolished Russia's elected Constituent Assembly, withdrew from the First World War by signing a punitive treaty with the Central Powers, and granted temporary independence to non-Russian nations under Russian control. Ruling by decree, it redistributed land among the peasantry and nationalized banks and large-scale industry. Opponents were suppressed in the Red Terror, a violent campaign orchestrated by the Cheka; tens of thousands were killed and many others interned in concentration camps. Lenin's government proved victorious over anti-Bolshevik armies in the Russian Civil War from 1917 to 1922. Responding to famine and popular uprisings, in 1921 Lenin introduced a mixed economic system with the New Economic Policy. Creating the Communist International and waging the Polish–Soviet War to promote world revolution, Lenin's government also united Russia with neighboring territories to form the Soviet Union in 1922. In increasingly poor health, Lenin expressed opposition to the growing power of his successor, Joseph Stalin, before dying at his dacha in Gorki.
