If it's okay to carry concealed, then it shouldn't be a problem for open carry. Concealed should open the door for both. Of course, discretion should be emphasized when carrying open. There are places that open carry will not be advisable.

I have a CCP and carry concealed when I'm in town. When I'm home, it depends on what clothes I'm wearing. The truth is it shouldn't matter. Today it was reported the Spokane authorities are attacking militia members for open carrying and either found a law or made one up that they aren't allowed. I don't belong to one, but last Spring when the 1st protest took place, militia people were walking around town. That's all the did was show their presence. The protesters were doing the looting and causing damage to property.

In my personal opinion, open carry, unrestricted, no license or background needed. Just proof you have attended a safety and orientation school for your specific device.

The way you say no background check makes me think you are in favor of Joe Shmo who just got out of prison for shooting little Suzy 15 years ago being able to walk down the road, buy a gun, then walk out and have the ability to go shoot anyone else he wants too. Some people just should not have a firearm! I see the licenses and background checks as keeping the honest honest and making some think twice because they don't want to deal with the hassle.

That is in no way what SGT Brandin Lea said. Just because someone's opinion doesn't exactly mirror how you feel doesn't give you license to put words in another's mouth or attack them. We can have logical debates without such rhetoric.

Okay SPC David Christman, tell me where I took SGT Lea's opinion the wrong way? Did I miss understand that all he thinks should be required is you know how to use the device safely? He did say unrestricted with no license or background check. So cop killers, rapist, racists, terrorists, and ever 12 years olds can walk into a store and buy a gun? It was not an attack, it was an worst case scenario example.

CPL, your point would make sense if criminals obeyed the law. As it is, "Joe Shmo who just got out of prison for shooting little Suzy 15 years ago" (who should have been executed anyway) already can buy and carry a gun, because he doesn't care that it's illegal. No one who is inclined to commit murder is going to be deterred from the act by a law that is supposed to limit his purchase or carry of a particular weapon.

Concealed unless open is the only legal option. Then I guess I'll carry concealed anyway.
