Its a LOT more comfortable than the older masks from before. You kind of look like Darth Vader's off spring though.

I have received the M50 mask and I have yet to find a con. Granted, I have only donned it three times, twice for gas chamber and once for NBC fire during rifle marksmanship. I believe it is an improvement and more comfortable than the previous mask. The instructions given for the use when the masks were issued to us were easy to understand, I would be remissed if I didn't mention that our CBRN NCO is an expert in his craft. So all in all I believe this was a step in the right direction for protective gear.

It is a lot more comfortable, maneuverable, and your field of vision is improved as well. All in all, wonderful. Now only if we can start getting them.

I was told next year. I'm guard though. Active duty may already have them.

But, will it work with a full beard? Please say yes. That's half the battle.

M50 Joint Service General Purpose Mask
This is the standard gas mask used by the Armed Forces. It can provide 24 hours of eye and respiratory protection against nuclear, biological, and chemical attacks. It has twin filters, which increase efficiency and make breathing easier. Water can be consumed through a special port, but no food can be eaten while the mask is worn. A number of paranormal creatures are able to release noxious or toxic gases, making gas masks essential when they are encountered.

HI have donned it numerous times CBRNE Training. Comfort, full face and vision and easy-to-use.

Unfortunately I haven't, but could you post a picture. I'd like to see what it looks like. I have to imagine it will be easier to use, carry, and clean then the old ones.
