From the diplomats point of view, I'd rather be coming home to America than Russia...

Yea- I’m thinking they are worse off. But I don’t have much experience in the embassy stuff.

Russia. They lost diplomats suspected of being intelligence agents in 28 countries, for a total of 161 removed. Some of those countries are key targets of intelligence gathering for Russia, like Ukraine, while others aren't that critical (as far as I know) like Sweden. It definitely comes at a cost, but I think they come out on the losing end.

Hard to say. Most of theirs are buried in like ticks and have been for years.

Russia exponentially. Honestly Putin is a bigger kid than Trump when it comes to sour grapes like this.......Putin will severely damage his own countries interests just to make an impact pouting. Never seen any dictator before slash tourism to their own country to make a point like Putin just did. Tourism is a major hard currency earner. Really dumb and shortsighted, hope he is happy because nobody on this side of the pond gives one whit that the St. Petersburg Embassy is closed except...........potential tourists to Russia.

That's a good point. Come to think of it, I have never even considered visiting Russia. They need a new marketing department.

MAJ (Join to see) - I worked with first generation Russians when I worked at Verizon that emigrated to the United States after Boris Yeltsin's revolution. Back then they were flying back and forth every once in a while to Russia then back to the United States. The emigre's universally hate Putin now. Thats pretty much how you can tell a Russian paid troll on the Internet, they will not speak negatively of Putin. There are a few nationalists among the emigre community that think Putin is the greatest man that ever walked the Earth (because Putin's party appeals to Russian Nationalists). However what the emigres told me about corruption in the local police and how easily it was to get whacked on the street, never had much of a desire to visit Russia. Hell, some of them even openly bribed the police as well as Customs when they were over there visiting, second nature to them. They need a Democracy before I risk my hide over there on a sightseeing trip. Mexico is a lot safer than Russia.

Russia by far. They lost their ability to spy on boomer movements out of Washington.

Not much there, Greg. We used to sail on surface to the 600 fathom curve, then disappear for two months.

The are good at Humint and need to rely on it more than we do.
I think that MCPO Collins is right movement do not tell them much, but classified operational data and tech does

I heard that the Rooskies were to close to the Naval Shipyards and a Submarine Pen in Washington State so they were planning on closing the Russian Consulate there anyway.
