I think it's really important to give recognition to those who were instrumental in shaping the the person that you became. It could be anyone from a peer to a leader to a family member or even a civilian who gave you some really good advice! For me it was a squad leader of mine. Very early in my career in the military this NCO really set a great example to follow. He was a firm yet fair leader who always seemed to put his soldiers first. He challenged me and my peers, constantly pushing us to be better. He drastically shaped the way I approached my service and I will always think of him as the one person who really set the example. He became my "army Father" so-to-say and I will appreciate him forever. He helped shape the man I've become and the man I strive to be! Thank you SSG Miller! I know you are not on rally point but you deserve to be recognized as a truly remarkable leader and mentor! The army is lucky to have you! Thank you!
