Who offers the best overall service (price and customer satisfaction) for auto insurance?

I am switching into a new vehicle in NYS. It’s expensive here because of comp and collision, especially for us young drivers. Any advice?

New York is rough for insurance. Are you in the city or upstate? I used to work for Geico and I know they're pretty good when it comes to pricing in the city, but I've still seen monthly premiums of over $1000. USAA is great for service members but they have a strict underwriting model. State Farm (who I work for now) has excellent service depending on the agent, and Geico prides itself on being a low cost provider so you may save a couple bucks but there are less frills.
