Who remembers the days of the USAF Airlift Rodeo competitons at Pope AFB?

I attended one from Charleston I believe in 1983? Wild time for sure.

I am not familiar with the ones at Pope, however we had similar type events in Korea where our units competed against each other with combat helicopter skills in the actual aircraft. The competition went through E&E lanes in the actual mountains, hover precision, sling load drills, written exams, oral evaluations and a myriad of events. It drive a better unit. Wish some of it could come back.
