The best of the best Athletes over 40 was Ted Williams by far. I don't think we will ever see his like again at least not in my lifetime..

SPC Randy Semanko - Thanx I forgot about Gordie Howe and Jagr amazes me with his hockey skill and smarts for the game. Jagr played for the Boston Bruins for just one season and I thought that would be his last but he just keeps going on like the Energizer Bunny..
But remember Ted Williams missed four seasons of baseball because of military service in WWII & Korea. He hung it up after 40 but many of us in Red Sox Nation thought he could still play for a few more seasons. But Ted Williams marched to his own drummer and decided to just go fishing instead of hitting the long ball at Fenway Park for us die hard Red Sox fanatics

There are a lot of great athletes on this list. I've enjoyed watching quite a few of them but I'd have to say for me it would be a tie with Dara Torres and Randy Couture.
